Junior Localization Engineer - Corvallis, OR
- Responsibilities include:
- Analysis of web sites and applications for localization potential and time/material requirements;
- Automation of analysis and file parsing and filtering, plus several other related activities;
- Re-engineering of some components (re-coding, and other technical changes to accommodate localization-related adjustments, script writing, as required); and
- Ensure compliance with clients requirements and integrity of data;
- Interface and coordinate with project management and art-graphics personnel, sales and customers; provide input to pre-sale planning and estimating of projects; and
- Provide support to operations and sales management, as required
- Providing quotes on new projects for marketing/sales departments as needed.
- All other tasks as assigned by a manager
- Qualifications include:
- An Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university preferred
- 1-3 years experience in a related field. 1 year of project management experience a plus
- Knowledge of computer languages (VB, VBA, C++) , scripting (Perl, ASP, Java, JSP) and markup languages (XML, HTML, XLIFF)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Internet software
- Knowledge of Translation Memory Tools (Trados, Déjà vu, SDLX)
- Knowledge of Software Localization tools (Catalyst, Passolo, Silk)
- Knowledge of Windows, Mac and Solaris Platforms
- Most duties are performed while sitting and employee is required to talk and hear
- Ability to enter information into a computer
