Localization Specialist - Boston

Description

• Analyze web sites, software applications and databases for localization potential
• Coordinate completion of client quotes and requests for proposal
• Assess time/material requirements for completion of projects
• Interface with production team, sales and other departments
• Parse and analyze web files, htm, xml, php, cfm, js, Flash etc.
• Parse and analyze software files, rc, dlls, install files etc.
• Restore and analyze client supplied database dumps
• Create automated parsing scripts and QA tools
• Ensure that proper project schedules and guidelines are followed
• Track progress of projects until completion

Requirements

• Bachelors degree or its equivalent (Computer Science or Mathematics preferred)
• Superb analytical skills
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills (English)
• Extensive use of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook and Internet browsers
• Proficient web programming languages (HTML, XML, ASP, JSP)
• Some knowledge of Flash
• Some knowledge of software localization
• Some knowledge of QuarkXPress, PageMaker, FrameMaker, Photoshop and Illustrator
• Some knowledge of programming language (e.g. VB, VBA, C++, Java)
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
• Desire to work in a fast pace environment and be a team player
• Organized and motivated self-starter with a problem-solver attitude
• Must be flexible with hours to accommodate project deadlines
• Some localization or technology related experience desired
• Fluency in another language a plus
